The last day of my holiday in Ireland started with a trip to Howth (rhymes with both), a small fishing and yachting port on the north side of Dublin Bay.
Although you might not expect it, Howth actually quite a few well-known residents. Among them actress Saoirse Ronan and U2 drummer Larry Mullen. (Unfortunately, I didn't see either of them :-( )
We had to return the car by midday, so in the afternoon I visited the National Museum of Archaeology in Dublin. I LOVE history and archaeology, so it was an afternoon well spent. It wasn't a very large museum like the British Museum or the Met, but it had quite a nice collection of artefacts from the Bronze Age and the Iron Age, especially an amazing collection of gold jewellery from those eras.
All in all, I would definitely recommend visiting Ireland, and Dublin in particular, to anyone who loves history and nature!
