Water under the bridge

Jacket: H&M / Jeans: H&M / Shirt: H&M / Scarf: Aquascutum / Shoes: Mint Velvet
Bag: Longchamp / Earrings: Ebay

I love the 'Dutch-ness'  of this bridge and the landscape in the background. It is part of my old hometown, and I thought it would be a nice background for some outfit pictures, as I was visiting my parents last week.

This outfit really is a combination of different items inspired by Kate's casual style. Nothing special, but I think it is a great outfit to relax in :)

The Royal Blues + the winner of the hat giveaway!

Jacket: Zara / Jeans: H&M / Loafers: Zara / Bag: Vintage / Blouse: H&M / Earrings: Ebay / Necklace: Cristalina

Ever since I saw Pippa leaving the Goring Hotel the day after the Royal Wedding I wanted a cobalt blue blazer. Unfortunately, I couldn't seem to find the right one. Until last month, when I got my hands on the same style Zara blazer she wore, and I felt it was just right for me. I really like the faux double-breasted style and the navy and white crested buttons.

What I love about a cobalt blazer is that it adds a pop of colour to every outfit, whether it is a summer, or winter outfit. It is also easy to accessorise.

Since it is autumn now, I went with a pair of black skinny jeans, black velvet loafers and a black leather bag. The OCD-er in me decided to bring back the colour blue in the collar of my blouse, my earrings, and my necklace. I am a firm believer in ' matchy-matchy'  outfits!

And the lucky winner is.....

Christine from the What Would Kate Do blog! Congratulations on winning the 'St. Patrick's Day' replikate hat made by GirlFabulosity!  Don't forget to send us a picture of your own twist to this gorgeous hat ;-)

Unfortunately I can't send a hat to everyone who participated (however much I'd like to), but I really would like to thank you all for following GirlFabulosity's and Tatiana's Delights' shenanigans on Facebook, Etsy and Bloglovin! Lots of new items and updates are coming up!

Black peplum

Jacket: H&M / Trousers: H&M / Pumps: L.K. Bennett
Blouse: Zara / Earrings: DesignsbyNoa on Etsy
Not an obvious 'Replikate' look, but I think it is a type of outfit we could see Kate wear. It is well known she has a love for peplum. The jacket is double breasted, and is from a previous H&M collection. It reminds me a bit of the burgundy Paule Ka jacket Kate wore during her visit with Prince William to Middle Temple. This jacket is definitely a go-to piece for me for 'inbetween' weather.

I am also wearing my L.K. Bennett Sledge heels in patent black. I got those in April 2012 as an early birthday present from my parents when we visited NYC and couldn't resist a little peek in to the newly opened L.K. Bennett store there.

The earrings are replikates of Kate's 'Temple of Heaven' earrings from Cassandra Goad, which I bought at DesignsByNoa on Etsy. They are great quality, and look exactly the same as Kate's.

Blue sky thinking

Coat: Ted Baker / Bag: Modalu England / Scarf: Vintage / Pumps: Jessica Simpson / Tights: HEMA
Dress: Ebay / Necklace: GirlFabulosity on Etsy / Earrings: Heavenly Necklaces

The skies are grey and the days are rainy over here in the Netherlands. So I practised some blue sky thinking by dressing in blue.

For another day at the office I paired my Ted Baker ' Jinan'  coat with my navy suede ' Callie'  pumps by Jessica Simpson and a bright blue dress. To add a touch of non-blue I chose my Modalu ' Pippa'  bag and matching scarf in mint green.

The ' Jinan'  trench was a lucky find last February at the Ted Baker outlet in Bicester Village. At the time it actually was a size too small for me, but luckily I lost a few pounds and now it fits (hip hip hurray for that!).

The ' Callie'  pumps aren't very comfortable, but they look really nice, especially considering the price. So I just stick to wearing them on days when I mostly sit 90% of the time.

I bought the earrings at Heavenly Necklaces after seeing Kate wearing a white topaz pair from Kiki McDonough. Love them, they are just so simple and chic, and look so real!

I bought the necklace from Brandi at GirlFabulosity on Etsy, who made it after a Claudia Bradby design. I usually don't wear long necklaces, but for some reason this one is the exemption that proves the rule.
The key to wearing this outfit in October is tights!
It took me ages to find the right pair for me. It is absolutely necessary that they match your skin colour and aren't too thick, but also that they don't rip as soon as you step out of the door (otherwise it is going to be a very expensive hobby). I found mine at the Dutch drug store HEMA. HEMA also has shops in Belgium and France, but they don't ship to the US or UK I'm afraid.

It is quite normal in Holland for women of every age to wear skin tone tights with a dress or skirt, especially to work. But I heard it is less normal in the US, and that tights actually came a bit back into fashion after Kate was spotted wearing them. So what about you? Do you wear tights when the temperatures drop, and if yes, did Kate inspire you to start?

Black, brown and beige

Jacket: Tatiana's Delights on Etsy / Bag: Longchamp / Scarf: Aquascutum /
Blouse: H&M / Jeans: H&M / Wedges: Pied-a-terre

In the fall I always love to combine black with basic neutral colours. I don't know why, but the combination of black, brown, beige and cream is always cozy and crisp at the same time! Black skinny jeans and a beige fitted jacket are definitely essentials for my fall wardrobe. Can't live without them.
Picture
Although I have loved the design of the classic Longchamp 'Le Pliage'  bags for a very long time, I was always hesitant to buy one, because I thought they were quite pricey for ' just' a nylon bag.

Fortunately, this summer there was a large black 'Le Pliage'  tote for sale at 25% off at the Longchamp airport shop and I just couldn't resist. Now it is one of my favourite bags! It is definitely worth the price. The nylon doesn't look cheap, and it is very sturdy (which you have to be if you are a bag owned by me).

Luckily, because it was such nice weather for the time of year, I could indulge in a bit of summer melancholia by wearing my black Pied-a-terre wedges. Probably for the last time this year though :-(

Now I can brag about that time I attended a Buckingham Palace tea party!

Just wanted to share with you this amazing collage made by Brittany from the Facebook page Repli-Kate It. Every month she creates a collage on which she wears all kinds of Kate inspired outfits, based on a specific theme, like the London Olympics or out with the scouts.

For the collage of this October she invited a bunch of members of the Kate Appreciation Society (a.k.a. followers of What Kate Wore and all other Kate-related blogs) to participate and join her at one of the Queen's Buckingham Palace tea parties ;-) Here's the result!
Picture
Pretty amazing, huh? Those are some photoshop skills!

The members of out tea party from left to right:
1.  Jennifer from North Dakota, USA:
     - Replikate of the pink Emilia Wickstead dress (Tatiana's Delights on Etsy)
     - Replikate of the matching Jane Corbett hat (GirlFabulosity on Etsy)
2.  Brittany (Repli-Kate It) from California, USA:
     - Replikate of the yellow Jenny Packham dress (custom order on Etsy)
     - Replikate of Jane Corbett hat (GirlFabulosity on Etsy)
     - L.K. Bennett Sledge pumps
3.  Anna (My Small Obsessions) from Poland:
     - Zara blue cornflower dress
     - Vivien Sheriff replikate fascinator (Girl Fabulosity on Etsy)
4. Brandi (GirlFabulosity) from North Carolina, USA:
    -  Hobbs Wessex dress
    - Stuart Weitzman Minx  wedges
    - L.K. Bennett Natalie clutch
    - Whiteley taupe hat
5. Me a.k.a. Tatiana (Tatiana's Delights) from the Netherlands:
    - Replikate of the DvF Maja dress (Tatiana's Delights on Etsy)
    - L.K. Bennett taupe Sliver heels
    - Replikates of the Temple of Heaven earrings (Designs by Noa on Etsy)
6. Laura from California, USA:
    - Moraiah dress by Temperley
    - L.K. Bennett Natalie clutch
   - Replikate of Gina Foster potato chip hat (GirlFabulosity on Etsy)
7. Emma from California, USA:
    - Topshop polka dot dress
    - Black replikate hat
    - Ralph Lauren replikate jacket

Unfortunately I didn't have a hat that would match my outfit. Brittany tried to photoshop one on me, but the only nude/beige Kate inspired hat (that no one was already wearing) was the hat Kate wore with the green weave dress by Jonathan Saunders when she arrived on the Solomon Islands, and that made me look like a jew (which I am not, so that wasn't really an appropriate look), so I am now just kicking against the etiquette fences attending a Buckingham Palace tea party without a hat (the horror!).

So, what would you wear if you would be invited to one of the Queen's tea parties?

Jacket: Mango / Trousers: H&M / Boots: Le Chameau / Jumper: Zara / Scarf: holiday souvenir /
Sunglasses: Amazon / Earrings: Tatiana's Delights on Etsy

There is no better way to celebrate the autumn weather by going to the beach! Gone are all the people and their beach towels. What remains is just empty space, wet sand and gray skies.
Picture
When William and Kate still lived in Anglesey they were regularly spotted taking walks on the beach, and no wonder. There is something very liberating and calming about an empty beach on a cloudy day. And of course it was an excellent occasion for me to take my Chameau boots out for a walk!

Because I only wear them 3 or 4 times a year, I didn't want to spend the full price for my Chameau Vierzonord boots. Luckily I found a pair on Ebay that had only been worn once or twice, and I bought it for around $80. They are really of very great quality, and thanks to the neoprene lining my feet always stay warm. My tip of the day: if you are looking for Kate's Chameaus at a lower price, try searching regularly on the Ebay websites of other countries. I got mine on the French Ebay.

And of course the best way to end the day is with my first hot chocolate of the season!

Do you also love to go to the beach when the weather starts getting colder? Or is the beach only a summer 'thing' for you? I want to know if you celebrate autumn weather too , and if yes: how?

Tatiana's Delights on Etsy!

Bright and brand new as of today is the Tatiana's Delights Etsy shop!
Picture
With the Etsy shop I have tried to make it easier for you to buy custom made dresses, coats and cashmere items inspired by Kate and Pippa. There are clear pictures of the items available, along with descriptions regarding their colour, the fabrics they are made of, and when Kate wore the items they are inspired by. Also, you can now place an order whenever you want. A lot more items will be added soon, so don't forget to keep checking out Tatiana's Delights on Etsy!

The replikate collages are back!

Back by popular demand are the Replikate collages I first started with on Facebook! I really loved making these! But besides posting about how to copy Duchess Kate's style, I felt I also want to write about other things that inspire me and keep me busy, so you can also expect regular posts about my own outfits, my adorable cats Taiyo and Vashti, how I am decorating my first apartment and posts about outfits from other (royal) ladies, like Crown Princess Mary of Denmark, Pippa Middleton, Queen Maxima, Countess Sophie and Crown Princess Letizia. I am always interested in your input, so if you want to see a post about a particular outfit, don't hesitate to let me know!

But for now: The weather is getting colder (for most of us), and I find myself looking at Kate's autumn and winter outfits for new inspiration. A year ago, on 9 October 2012, she visited the opening of St. George's football park with Prince William. Since she had to spend a lot of time outside there she wore a - in my opinion particularly great - outfit to keep warm: her grey-olive green Reiss Angel coat, black tights, black suede Aquatalia Rhumba boots, a croco-embossed leather belt from Reiss and her gold and green amethyst earrings from Kiki McDonough. Unfortunately, all items are either expensive or sold out, but luckily there are some great replikates available this season.
Picture
  1. Green crystal and gold vermeil earrings, The Looking Glass Shop on Etsy, $ 34.00
  2. Black patent croco-embossed bonded leather belt, Ebay, $14.99
  3. Faux suede black ' Raymona' boots, BCBGeneration at Macy's, $110.00
  4. Olive wool blend coat with envelope collar, Sam Edelman at Amazon, $158.00
  5. Black faux suede stretch wide calf boots, Lane Bryant, $79.95
  6. 14k gold, diamond and green amethyst earrings, Ebay, $436.00
  7. Black croc-embossed leather belt with equestrian hardware, Lauren Ralph Lauren at Macy's, $88.00
  8. Black faux suede pull on stretch boots, John Lewis, $79.00
  9. Grey/olive green cashmere and wool blend coat, Tatiana's Delights on Etsy, $259.00
  10. Gold coloured and green crystal earrings, Tatiana's Delights on Etsy, $49.00

What do you think? Any items you might consider buying? Or maybe you know a replikate that is even better? Don't forget to share it on the Tatiana's Delights Facebook page!

I will be adding the collages and all items I use in them to my Pinterest board Tatiana's Delights - Replikate collages and products. So be sure to check it out and don't forget to repin anything you like!
